Contact your energy supplier as soon as possible and explain what you can afford; they may offer affordable repayment arrangements, emergency credit or other support. Ask whether you qualify for the Priority Services Register, particularly if you are vulnerable, disabled, pregnant or have young children, and check your supplier’s rules before your credit runs out. You may also be eligible for support such as the Warm Home Discount or a charity grant, depending on your circumstances. Check current guidance on GOV.UK and Ofgem, and contact a free debt adviser such as Citizens Advice if you need help negotiating with your supplier.
