Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, faulty goods that are not satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described may give you the right to reject them and end the contract. Usually, you have 30 days from receiving the goods to request a full refund, although you may have other remedies after that, such as a repair, replacement or price reduction. Contact the retailer, rather than just the manufacturer, explain the fault and keep your receipt and other evidence. If the retailer disputes your rights, consider getting advice from Citizens Advice or a solicitor regulated by the SRA.
