Complain first to the retailer or trader that sold you the goods, rather than the manufacturer, because the seller is responsible for your consumer rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods should be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described; you may have a short-term right to reject faulty goods for a refund, usually within 30 days. After that, you may need to request a repair or replacement, although a refund could still be appropriate if this is unsuccessful or disproportionate. Keep your receipt and contact the retailer in writing; Citizens Advice can explain your options if the trader refuses to help.
