Complain to the bank, lender, insurer or financial adviser first, using its official complaints process and keeping copies of your evidence. If you do not receive a satisfactory final response, you may be able to take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, usually within six months of that response. The ombudsman will consider whether it can handle your case and make a decision based on the circumstances. You can also report suspected misconduct to the FCA, although it does not usually resolve individual complaints or award compensation.
