Do retirees still have redundancy rights if their job is ended because of redundancy?

A Sorted Team Answered by

Reaching State Pension age, or already receiving a pension, does not automatically remove your redundancy rights. If you are an employee with at least two years’ continuous service and your role is genuinely redundant, you may qualify for statutory redundancy pay, subject to the rules and limits in force. You may also have rights relating to notice, consultation and protection from age discrimination. Check the latest guidance and calculator on GOV.UK, and consider advice from an employment solicitor if the redundancy or your eligibility is disputed.
